Great Sand Dunes Lodge

Great location, and it's wonderful that they are open during the winter season. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was mainly breads, muffins and cold items. No eggs or sausage. They did have a waffle maker. There aren't any tables to sit at for breakfast. The rooms were basic and clean. The only room issue we had was the mattresses. Both beds in our room were higher on the edges and caved in towards the middle. So when we got into bed, we'd sink, and have to make an effort to climb out. Perhaps the management should consider replacing the mattresses in the future. Very convenient to the dunes.

Very clean and great location. My screen door wasn't attached which was a bit of a bummer. I would've loved to have the door open but too many flies. Nothing available for people with gluten issues for breakfast (glad I bring my own stuff). Very nice staff and Peppermint the kitty is adorable. The views are wonderful also!!

The trailer we had was good. We were just two so it was pretty confortable. I appreciate that shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body lotion were available. The view were amazing! The fridge was big and also with a freezer. Breakfast was also good. (We had our own fruits) And you are really next to the park so perfect!

Nicely renovated room. It looks much nicer than the outside once you get in, so don't be worried upon arrival. The bed is comfortable, and the shower is clean with good water pressure. The noise from other rooms leak through a little, but not too bad. Simple continental breakfast, enough for a morning trip of the sand dunes NP. The room has fridge and microwave, so you can also bring your own food or take out from the closest town. There's no restaurant nearby, since it's a NP. The room with porch has great view of the dark night sky and the sand dunes NP (from afar). Definitely recommend. If you have binoculars or telephoto lens for the camera, you'll also get good photos. Edit: forgot to mention the good customer service! We left a personal item behind after checking out. We went back after visiting the NP. The front desk lady went above and beyond to check with the cleaning team in the back and ended up fishing our thing out of the trash can

Absolutely stunning sunrise views from each room and very close to the dunes national park. Was very quiet when I was there. They do a takeaway breakfast that includes waffles, toast, and mini bagels. The office cat is super friendly and very cute - which is a bonus!

I Couldn’t have found a better place close by. The staff is super friendly and will give you details about the lodge on arrival. The Aspen trailer has everything you need inside. The bed is comfy, the air conditioner is a little loud but I was able to sleep during the night. I would highly recommend for the views alone. Enjoy!

We stayed here for one night. The location is great as its the only hotel that is near the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The check-in was also smooth as they left the keys for me outside as I had a late check-in. I would not recommend a late check-in as this national park is located away from city and could get really dark during night travel. They have waffles for breakfast and could have been better if they could add eggs. The room was spacious. My only concern was the toilet. I think they didn't pay attention to cleaning the toilet bowl as it was still dirty.

Checked in late at night so I could not believe my eyes the view from the balcony! Service was great too, everyone super friendly especially Peppermint. The room was and they were very accommodating to my dog. No complaints 10/10
